Talk announcement: How software development shaped the way I do science

Abstract

My scientific career had a break. In 2012, I left academia to work as an engineer for an optical technology company. When I returned to research in 2015 I noticed how extremely useful some engineering skills can be for everyday science. I want to share what I learned with you.
